Workout Wednesday – Lower Body Supersets

November 4, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Lower Body Supersets

The last few days have been rough. The button on the side of my Fitbit broke (several parts appear to be broken around that area) and so I cannot scroll through the information! It is killing me. I don’t know how many steps I’ve gotten or even what time it is (I have surprised myself with how many times I use it for the clock). It still registers, I just cannot view it.

It has a one-year warranty but I’m not sure if they will honor it. I wonder if they will say it was my fault or something that it was broken. I mean it gets worn every single day so yeah, it gets a lot of use. I’ll have to call them. Otherwise, I might have to buck up and buy another fitness tracker! [Read more…]

Apricot Coconut Protein Bites

November 2, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Apricot Coconut Protein Bites-edit

Did you have a good Halloween?! Did you remember to change your clocks on Saturday night/Sunday morning? I definitely like the “fall back” time change better than the “spring forward” time change. We were quite productive this morning at the ol’ Edson household. [Read more…]

Anything & Everything Friday – October 30th

October 30, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Pumpkin Spice

It is Friday! Not only that, it is the Friday before Halloween!!!! Have you bought your candy for trick-or-treaters? Or are you the trick-or-treater? Either way, it is time to recap the week based on my thoughts and randomness. Here goes….

1. Halloween: Happy Halloween everyone! It is tomorrow, can you believe it?!?! Are you dressing up? Or are your kiddos dressing up? What are the costume choices this year? One last question, how adorable are these two kids? That’s me and my sister in the early 90s (I’m the tiger, she is the bumble bee). Too cute. [Read more…]

Museum Dinner 2015

October 29, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Last Saturday night Donny catered the Fort Morgan Heritage Foundation’s Dinner in the Gallery. The Heritage Foundation is the foundation for the Fort Morgan Museum. Each year they have a dinner and auction where they auction off a “Dinner in the Gallery”. They sell around 25 tickets to the dinner and I believe this was Donny’s 4th or 5th year making all the food.

Each year he picks a different theme and this year he chose Italian. He worked several years at Buca di Beppo before moving back to Fort Morgan, so he knows a lot about Italian cuisine. The amazing part about the whole dinner is that there is no kitchen at the museum. There is a sink and fridge but no oven or stovetop. Donny has to be very strategic when planning the menu. Workout Wednesday Giant Sets

Remember in Monday’s post how I said when I was meal prepping I made a little extra so I can have real dinners while Donny is gone? Welllll…..here’s the thing…..Monday night I tried creating a new recipe (needs some work) so I made eggs for dinner and last night I didn’t get home until 7:00pm so I had Greek yogurt.

I swear I have big plans to eat that hamburger in the fridge! It will not go to waste. Tonight is the night. [Read more…]

White Chicken Chili with Sweet Potatoes

October 26, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

White Chicken Chili-edit

Another weekend gone. They seem to fly by waaaay too quick sometimes. I took it very easy Friday night. I messed around in the kitchen for a while making nut & seed bars (post headed your way soon). I didn’t want to do anything too crazy because I knew Saturday would be a long day getting ready for the museum dinner for the Heritage Foundation.

Let’s just say it was a long day. [Read more…]

Anything & Everything Friday, October 23rd

October 23, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Yessss - Its Friday

It is Friday – yayyyy!!!!! This picture reminded me of my sister. Not because it looks like her, but because it seems like something she would do. By that I mean scream about it being Friday. While riding around on roller skates. In a cardigan.

Donny has his big catering job for the Heritage Foundation (the museum in Fort Morgan) this weekend. It is always a lot of work, but so much fun. He is doing all Italian food this year and has some great things planned. I’ll take pictures again and share them with you…. basically to make you drool. You’re welcome. Check out last year’s dinner menu Museum Dinner – Part 1 & Museum Dinner – Part 2. [Read more…]

Bicep Tricep Cardio

October 21, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Bicep-Tricep-Cardio

We made it back from Cleveland and had a blast! Honestly, I really enjoyed the city. A lot of people I’ve talked to have not enjoyed Cleveland but I found it nice. The people were very friendly to us…even at the Browns-Broncos game! I mean sure, a few of them called us a**holes but only because we were sporting our Broncos gear and they are from Cleveland. It is expected, right?

No really, we had a ton of fun and ate some great food. I’ll write a post about it soon but we made it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, BrewZilla, and made it to the Dawg Pound to watch the Broncos beat the Browns 26-23 in OT. I’ll go ahead and mark that up to a success. More details to follow. [Read more…]

Anything & Everything Friday – October 16th

October 16, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Synonym for Friday

Boom Shakalaka is right! Happy Friday. What’s been going on this week!

1. Boss’s Day: Happy Boss’s Day! I hope all you bosses out there have a fantastic day. If you love your boss then make sure you tell them how much you appreciate them today and everyday. My boss happens to be my dad so I have to be careful not to confuse Boss’s Day with Father’s Day. Happy Bosses Day Wayno! Wayne is celebrating the right way with being on vacation on Boss’s day. Good decision dad, good decision. I do enjoy Wayne as a boss. On that note, can I please add this to the list of needs for KFTM? Please and thank you! [Read more…]

Workout Wednesday: Upper Body + Power

October 14, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Upper Body + Power

First of all, I’d like to point out that I successfully read Monday night for over an hour. Not to brag but I was all alone in the house (not counting Doug) and it was dark out the entire time. I didn’t even freak myself out! This time I tried reading in the living room with the lights on so I could see all around me. I figured if I could see most of the upstairs of our house (both entrances at least) then I wouldn’t be as scared. I think it worked! I didn’t let my silly mind take over and come up with hypothetical, and impractical I might add, events that would lead to me being kidnapped or murdered. I’d count that up as a big success!
