Anything & Everything Friday, October 23rd

October 23, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Yessss - Its Friday

It is Friday – yayyyy!!!!! This picture reminded me of my sister. Not because it looks like her, but because it seems like something she would do. By that I mean scream about it being Friday. While riding around on roller skates. In a cardigan.

Donny has his big catering job for the Heritage Foundation (the museum in Fort Morgan) this weekend. It is always a lot of work, but so much fun. He is doing all Italian food this year and has some great things planned. I’ll take pictures again and share them with you…. basically to make you drool. You’re welcome. Check out last year’s dinner menu Museum Dinner – Part 1 & Museum Dinner – Part 2.

So what else has been going on this week?!? Well puppy videos, Lucky Charms, and reading. That’s what.

1. Dog videos. Please take a minute and watch this video of an adorable corgi who is clearly not pleased with a tiny pumpkin. If you do not enjoy videos of dogs or cats doing cute and hilarious things then we have bigger problems…..

2. 34 Benefits of Water. I have no problem drinking water. I drink around four liters of water a day. Drinking plenty of water throughout the day is a great habit and I can definitely tell when I don’t drink enough water (like when vacationing in Cleveland….). Some example of the benefits listed in this article by Sally Tamarkin include possible weight loss, help you with digestion, gives you energy, keeps your kidneys in tip-top shape…. I could go on and on, but go ahead and read the article. In fact, when you sit down to read the article you should also grab a big glass of H2O.

3. 5-Minute Power Booster at the Office. Is anyone else less-than-motivated when it is cloudy and rainy out? Northeast Colorado has been cloudy and rainy for a few days now. Read through these tips to boost energy at the office. They might come in handy after a night of less-than-stellar sleep or for gloomy days like we’ve had the past couple days here in Colorado.

4. Lucky Charms. Did you eat those as a kid? Maybe you eat them now. Who knows. Either way if you’ve consumed Lucky Charms before then you know the best part of the cereal is the marshmallows. Well the peeps at General Mills finally came to their senses and released a cereal made entirely of Lucky Charms marshmallows!!! Mind = blown. This article says it right…. childhood dreams do come true.

5. The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton. I’ve told you about this book a couple times because this is the first book we chose for our book club! We had our first meeting on Wednesday to discuss it and this book is awesome. It is a mystery, but it is not violent or scary even (yes, I scare myself by hearing noises around the house when I’m alone and reading but the contents of the book are not scary. Promise.) I was completely thrown off by the ending! I mean completely thrown off. It is written in several different characters’ perspectives (similar to Jodi Picoult’s books) and the end has quite the twist. I read the entire flight to Cleveland, a couple times in Cleveland (before bed), and the entire flight home from Cleveland. We landed in Denver and I had about 40 pages to go. I was so into the book at that point that I read on the drive home even. I never do that! I did finish it and man, it was good. Only three out of the six of us at our first meeting had finished the book so it was hard to talk about all the craziness! It had so much going on and so many details that we didn’t explain it to them that well. Our next book is What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty. My mom said it is fantastic! If you want suggestions on some of my other favorite books then check out my post Books. Books. Books.

Happy Friday! Enjoy the weekend. If you find other cute puppy or dog videos then send them my way!

P.S. An update on my bench press…..I managed two reps completely by myself at 105lbs. Added 5 lbs and hit one solid rep at 110lbs but needed a little help with the 2nd rep. I definitely felt more confident with 110lb. Move up to 115lb soon?!?! Maybe…..
