Anything & Everything Friday’s are something I hope to continue each Friday where I get to talk to you about, well, anything and everything I have on my mind. See what I did there?!
I have a lot of random information that I find throughout the week or short events/topics that I want to bring up, without writing about each one in a different post. It is also a way to make my random thoughts seem somewhat organized. Organized chaos, if you will.
Here goes….
9/11. Today is the 14th year anniversary of the September 11th attack on America. There aren’t a ton of events in my lifetime (the last 27 years) that stick in my mind as much as that day. I went Washington D.C. & New York City on a school trip the June after the attacks. We had a tour guide that shared stories with us about that day. I also loved going to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum this last June. Check out my post about the tour and my trip to NYC here. Do you remember what you were doing that day?
Football. Football started last night with the Patriots taking on the Steelers. I myself am a Broncos fan and their regular season gets started on Sunday! Cannot wait. I love football-Sundays when we get some stuff done in the morning and then get together with a few people (or sometimes no one), make some cool food, and lounge. Perfection. I really look forward to the NFL season and at the end of the football season it takes me a few weeks to get use to having free Sundays! My routine gets completely thrown off. What team do you root for?!
Pumpkin Spice everything. I dig the pumpkin-spice-thing and most products are acceptable. Here are some healthier options in grocery stores. I’m quite skeptical about this product though. Pumpkin water?!? Yikes.
Express jeans. I recently purchased three pairs of new jeans from Express.com. Not really that weird, except I haven’t bought or worn Express jeans in years… I mean years. So the fact that I guessed what size I probably wore in their brand and then they happened to kinda of fit was not something I expected. I bought all three pairs in the same size. One pair fit and two of the pairs were just a little too big. I exchanged those two pairs for a smaller size and I love them! I figured I would hate at least one style, but I didn’t! My favorite of the three were the Barely Boot in tall. They look fantastic with heels! I love dark wash jeans. They are can easily be dressed up or dressed down.
Digestive Enzymes. For the past year or two now I have struggled on and off with these terrible stomach aches in the afternoon and evenings. They are random and I cannot figure out what causes them. I researched doing an elimination diet (I might still try this one), but as I was researching those I found some information about digestive enzymes. I decided to give them a try and bought some at our local health store, Holistic Health. I am trying the Solaray brand called Super Digestaway. I like them so far! Not sure if they are working 100% the way they will after a few weeks, but so far so good. They make me, um, quite regular… if you know what I mean (which is not something I’m use to).
Estes Park. I haven’t been up to Estes Park to spend the weekend in a very long time. My awesome friend Madeline is getting married up there tomorrow (yay Maddy, I’m so excited for you)! We are spending the weekend up there and it happens to be the Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival! Music, food, dancing, and even jousting. We won’t have a ton of time, but we will definitely need to go to this before heading to the wedding. I love when we get to spend a weekend up in the mountains. We live about an hour and a half to two hours away and rarely make it up there. Wedding = perfect reason to spend the weekend in the hills!
So, my first Anything & Everything Friday is complete! More randomness to come next Friday… watch out!
What are your plans for this weekend? Are you going to go pick up some Pumpkin Water?!?!?!
