Oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfast foods. Well, it is one of my favorite foods in general! It is healthy, full of fiber and keeps you full all morning!
I eat oatmeal in some form 4-5 days per week. In the summertime, I prefer overnight oats. In the winter, I tend to make more hot oat recipes! Sweet or savory you can make oatmeal one million different ways!
You can use oatmeal in so many different types of recipes from cookies to meatloaf to breads. Breakfast is the obvious choice, but get creative in your clean eating recipes. Oat flour can be a great substitute for other whole grain flours.
Oatmeal is a whole grain and it is naturally gluten free. However, it is often processed in a plant that processes other items that are not gluten free. If you need or want to eat gluten free then you need to find gluten free oats. If you just want to limit the amount of gluten you eat, then it would be fine to consume oats that have not been certified gluten free. Honestly there is minimal gluten in oatmeal in general.
So I’ve rounded up four of my favorites oatmeal recipes for you, but check out the Breakfast section of the blog to see even more delicious, clean eating recipes! In this post I’ve included two recipes for baked oatmeal, one overnight oatmeal recipe and a recipe for some quick, savory oats that take five minutes. Boom, breakfast is done.
You can mix and match flavors and ingredients from one recipe to the next with a few modifications. For example, you can make strawberry banana protein oats with quick cooking oats in the morning. You’ll just adjust the recipe slightly. Same flavors, different preparation!
Here are some of my favorites…..
Apple Blueberry Ginger Oatmeal Bake
Strawberry Banana Protein Overnight Oats
Oatmeal with Avocado & Fried Egg
Peanut Butter & Banana Baked Oatmeal
