Yesterday was a very productive day for me. I went to bed fairly early Saturday night so I woke up about 6:30am. Donny partied a little bit (maybe a lotta bit) so I had about four hours all to myself to get things done. The surprising thing was that Doug even stayed in bed until about 10:30am! He rarely does that…. [Read more…]

Anything & Everything Friday – November 27
Happy Friday! Did you go shopping this morning? Or do you plan to go today at all? Do you want to take those sweet puppies home like I do?!?!
It is time to talk about all the random things popping up in my head recently (at least what hasn’t been blocked by my turkey coma). Let’s dive right in to this week’s Anything & Everything Friday! This week it is tea, holiday weight gain, and of course Black Friday! [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Back & Biceps
So how many times do you have to do something before it becomes a “thing”? Are there rules for this? I’m asking because Donny & I made a frittata last night. I didn’t realize until I was writing this post that it was last Tuesday evening that we made our first frittata. I’m not promising anything but we might even make a frittata next Tuesday for dinner. Mind = blown.
I think I’ll start referring to it as Tuesday Night Frittata Night! The name needs work, but it’ll catch on, right?! [Read more…]
Maple Pecan Granola
First of all, happy birthday to Donny!!!! He is 33 years old today so if you see him around then wish him a happy birthday too.
We had a fantastic time in Seattle over the weekend to celebrate his birthday. It was one of our most fun trips. We were there less than 48 hours, but I’m telling you, we made it count! We left late on Friday night and got back last night around 12:30pm. Yikes. Not my thing to be out that late on a Sunday, but I’m trying to be more open to the idea (under certain circumstances) and this trip was absolutely worth it. Coffee. I’ll just drink coffee. [Read more…]
Anything & Everything Friday – November 20th
I love waking up on Friday morning knowing that I am a few hours away from the weekend. Yesterday felt like Friday to me. I hate when that happens because who wants two Fridays?!?!?!
Regardless, today just so happens to be Friday. Time for my Anything & Everything post where I discuss any random thoughts, articles, or ideas I’ve had this week. Here goes….. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Strength Giant Set with Cardio Circuit
A little random, but have you ever made a frittata? I see recipes for them all the time and I’d never tried it. Last night we were contemplating what to have for dinner and I suggested breakfast. Donny has a really big cast iron skillet so we decided to make a frittata. I’m in love!
No joke, it was super easy and soooo good! Since the skillet was so big we have leftovers. Yes, I did have some of it for breakfast this morning. Basically a frittata is a quiche, but without the crust. It is an egg dish that is partially cooked on the stove top then put in the over to finish. It is awesome. I might have to work up a recipe for one!
Also, our flooring looks awesome so far! I will post some pictures when it is all done. I’m really going to like it. They said three days so it might even be done tonight! Then on to decorating… yay!! [Read more…]
Nut & Seed Bars
We had early Thanksgiving yesterday at Donny’s parents house. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied sweet potatoes, broccoli casserole, rolls, stuffing…. phew I am full just thinking about all the food! Not only that, but Peggy made lemon meringue pie, pecan pie, and his grandma made pumpkin bars. It was delicious! [Read more…]
Anything & Everything Friday – November 13th
It is already Friday… this week flew by. It was full of meetings and all sorts of things. Man, it’ll be nice to relax a little bit. We have early Thanksgiving with Donny’s family, which will be fun. Hopefully the Caddy will be ready 🙂
Well it is time for Anything & Everything Friday!
1.Body Shaming: Have you seen this article circulating around the internet? Two fitness instructors were featured in a newspaper about their new studio and someone cut the article out of the paper and sent it to them with little notes all over it saying they were fat and unfit. They ended up getting another article printed calling that person out (they didn’t name them). It is awesome. Two Fitness Instructors Gave A Brilliant Response After Being Body Shamed. I just don’t understand body shaming. As women, we tend to be hard enough on ourselves so we definitely don’t need it from others. They make a point in saying that you never know what the other person is going through at that time or what they have been through in the past. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Mini Circuit
Our first snow of the season today…. are you happy? Or mad? I could deal with no wind but I am handling the snow better than I thought I would. Class got cancelled this morning so Donny & I went to the gym instead. I did a pretty heavy chest and tricep workout. The roads weren’t bad at all so luckily the blizzard missed us. Starting snowing a little more later in the morning though.
Also, I can go back to my normal life and routine now. Why? Because I have my new Fitbit! Everything is right with my world now.
Alright, I’m being a bit dramatic. It wasn’t life altering to be without my Fitbit, but I definitely prefer to have one on. I was always wondering how many steps I needed for the day and I wanted to be able to check the time too.
If you missed last week’s Workout Wednesday post then you wouldn’t know that the button on the side of my Fitbit fell off. Meaning I couldn’t get any of the stats to show up on the device, only on the app. Which was on my iPad. That I never carry with me. Silly me. [Read more…]
Pear & Pomegranate Steel-Cut Oats
Donny & I did end up going to see the new James Bond movie last night. We went on an official date. My favorite kind of date too…sweat pants included!
We both loved the movie! Not as many cool cars in it, but plenty of action.
Does anyone else think that Christoph Waltz makes a fantastic bad guy?!?! He was the controlling husband in the movie Water for Elephants and he’s been in quite a few other movies. He was in Django Unchained, but I never saw that movie to know what kind of character he plays. I think he makes a great bad guy. He is in Spectre and just gives such a great creepy vibe. Maybe it is his voice. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but I like watching him. [Read more…]
