The countdown is on to 2016. Holy cow, it is almost here. I’ve have a fantastic 2015 and I cannot wait to see what this next year brings! We have a lot of plans, yet minimal real plans….if that makes sense. There are plenty of things we want to do and a few trips we have planned (shockingly), yet we have a lot of things not set in stone. It will be a good year. [Read more…]
High Rep Bicep & Tricep Supersets
Christmas Eve is tomorrow, meaning Christmas is in two days! Are you ready?!?!?! I wrapped presents last night, which I always love to do. I didn’t have very many but I made them count. I had a few that were oddly shaped and I didn’t want to put them in a box, so I basically threw wrapping paper on them and taped wherever! I’ll just tell everyone that Donny wrapped those…. hahaha just kidding Donny. I’ll take credit for them. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday: Quad Sets – Upper Body + Cardio Burst
Holy snow. If you live in Colorado, did you survive yesterday?!?! Schools were closed all over Northeast Colorado, but the radio world continues! It was actually a great day in the office to get things done. There was no need to go out-and-about so I got completely caught up from being gone all last week.
The wind caused quite a few drifts and it tends to drift pretty heavily by our front door and in front of our garage door. We got off work an hour early (so we could get home before dark) and my parents surprised us by coming over to help shovel! My dad & I shoveled the driveway and my mom entertained Donny. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday: Shoulder & Ab Supersets
How often do you exercise? So unless I am out of town I have been consistently working out 6 days per week. I know I should probably take an additional day off, but I never really do.
However, this last week I was seriously struggling for motivation and strength actually. I felt very weak and sore everywhere. Not necessarily sore from a good, hard workout…but sore all over. I was enjoying my workouts, but not feeling quite as enthusiastic as I usually am. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Back & Biceps
So how many times do you have to do something before it becomes a “thing”? Are there rules for this? I’m asking because Donny & I made a frittata last night. I didn’t realize until I was writing this post that it was last Tuesday evening that we made our first frittata. I’m not promising anything but we might even make a frittata next Tuesday for dinner. Mind = blown.
I think I’ll start referring to it as Tuesday Night Frittata Night! The name needs work, but it’ll catch on, right?! [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Strength Giant Set with Cardio Circuit
A little random, but have you ever made a frittata? I see recipes for them all the time and I’d never tried it. Last night we were contemplating what to have for dinner and I suggested breakfast. Donny has a really big cast iron skillet so we decided to make a frittata. I’m in love!
No joke, it was super easy and soooo good! Since the skillet was so big we have leftovers. Yes, I did have some of it for breakfast this morning. Basically a frittata is a quiche, but without the crust. It is an egg dish that is partially cooked on the stove top then put in the over to finish. It is awesome. I might have to work up a recipe for one!
Also, our flooring looks awesome so far! I will post some pictures when it is all done. I’m really going to like it. They said three days so it might even be done tonight! Then on to decorating… yay!! [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Mini Circuit
Our first snow of the season today…. are you happy? Or mad? I could deal with no wind but I am handling the snow better than I thought I would. Class got cancelled this morning so Donny & I went to the gym instead. I did a pretty heavy chest and tricep workout. The roads weren’t bad at all so luckily the blizzard missed us. Starting snowing a little more later in the morning though.
Also, I can go back to my normal life and routine now. Why? Because I have my new Fitbit! Everything is right with my world now.
Alright, I’m being a bit dramatic. It wasn’t life altering to be without my Fitbit, but I definitely prefer to have one on. I was always wondering how many steps I needed for the day and I wanted to be able to check the time too.
If you missed last week’s Workout Wednesday post then you wouldn’t know that the button on the side of my Fitbit fell off. Meaning I couldn’t get any of the stats to show up on the device, only on the app. Which was on my iPad. That I never carry with me. Silly me. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Lower Body Supersets
The last few days have been rough. The button on the side of my Fitbit broke (several parts appear to be broken around that area) and so I cannot scroll through the information! It is killing me. I don’t know how many steps I’ve gotten or even what time it is (I have surprised myself with how many times I use it for the clock). It still registers, I just cannot view it.
It has a one-year warranty but I’m not sure if they will honor it. I wonder if they will say it was my fault or something that it was broken. I mean it gets worn every single day so yeah, it gets a lot of use. I’ll have to call them. Otherwise, I might have to buck up and buy another fitness tracker! [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday: Giant Sets
Remember in Monday’s post how I said when I was meal prepping I made a little extra so I can have real dinners while Donny is gone? Welllll…..here’s the thing…..Monday night I tried creating a new recipe (needs some work) so I made eggs for dinner and last night I didn’t get home until 7:00pm so I had Greek yogurt.
I swear I have big plans to eat that hamburger in the fridge! It will not go to waste. Tonight is the night. [Read more…]
Bicep Tricep Cardio
We made it back from Cleveland and had a blast! Honestly, I really enjoyed the city. A lot of people I’ve talked to have not enjoyed Cleveland but I found it nice. The people were very friendly to us…even at the Browns-Broncos game! I mean sure, a few of them called us a**holes but only because we were sporting our Broncos gear and they are from Cleveland. It is expected, right?
No really, we had a ton of fun and ate some great food. I’ll write a post about it soon but we made it to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, BrewZilla, and made it to the Dawg Pound to watch the Broncos beat the Browns 26-23 in OT. I’ll go ahead and mark that up to a success. More details to follow. [Read more…]
