Anything & Everything Friday – March 11th

March 11, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Girls Trip

Congratulations on making it to Friday! I am super pumped. We leave on our 4th annual girls trip this evening and I am super pumped! I’ll tell you a little bit more about it below. Plus we are talking about things to add to smoothies and Peyton Manning’s retirement! Here goes….

1. Peyton Manning’s Retirement: Well Peyton Manning officially announced his retirement this week. Good for him. I am happy he went out on top, especially after the rough season he had and the injuries. His brother Eli put together this video as a tribute to Peyton. It is really cool! If you have a few minutes and haven’t already seen this then I think it is worth it. I found Eli Manning’s Video Tribute to Peyton on Huffington Post along with an article written by Ron Dicker. Friday - Show Up

This week has been quite weird. I thought Tuesday was Wednesday, that Wednesday was Thursday, and that Thursday was Wednesday. Yikes. Regardless, it is FRIDAY! Time for Anything & Everything Friday, where I discuss five random things with you. The topics range from food to fitness to anything going on in my life….. here we go.

1.Winter Hands: I don’t know about you, but my hands get crazy dry in the winter! I drink a lot of water which leads to going to the bathroom a lot, which in turn leads to me washing my hands all. the. time. The warm water and the cold weather tends to dry my hands out quite a bit…. no bueno. Check out this DIY solution that I found that is only two ingredients (that happen to come from the kitchen). Is it clean eating? No, but don’t eat it. Use it on your hands, crazy! Check out Well & Good’s solution to dry hands with Winter Hands Saved: An Awesome Treatment Using Two Items In Your Kitchen. Friday - Alarm

Seems like a long week since we had to work all five days! We got spoiled over the holidays with two 3-day weekends in a row. This week flew by but it still seems like we should have today off, right?!? Anyone else agree that not having to set an alarm for Saturday morning is pure happiness? Hahaha I love when I get to sleep in on a Saturday morning with no where to be. Awesome.

New Years Resolutions

Hello 2016! Did you ring in the new year with a bang?! I would venture to say that I did not. We were not awake at midnight (which I am not mad about), but we were up until 10:00pm to watch the ball drop in NYC! That’s not too shabby, right?

We had two different couples (plus two kiddos) come over and made fondue. Sweat pants or PJs were required. It was fantastic! We made a cheese fondue using jarlsberg and gruyere. We had bread, chicken sausage, apples, and a ton of different veggies to dip in it. Then we had a broth that had some green onions and peppercorns in it that you cooked small chunks of beef, chicken, and shrimp in. They were both fantastic!  [Read more…]
