Anything & Everything Friday – July 22nd

July 22, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Friday

Every week I say something about “this week has flown by” or “woah, this month is gone already”. However, I am not feeling that way right now. I won’t lie, this week seemed to take for-ev-ver (spoken Squints-style from The Sandlot). I felt like it should be Thursday or Friday and it was really only Tuesday. That was when I KNEW it was going to be a long week……

Regardless, I made it through the week (it wasn’t a bad week, just slow)! I am ready for a date night tonight for our anniversary and a hopefully (somewhat) relaxing weekend. First, let’s get to Anything & Everything Friday. A post where I share 5 thoughts, ideas, articles, etc with you from throughout the week. This week I’m talking about BarkBox, our anniversary and I have some ice cream recipes! Ayo! Let’s do this…. [Read more…]

Friday

Happy Friday! I missed an Anything & Everything Friday post last week. I had intended to get one put together and things just got TOO hectic with Bobstock. I thought about throwing one together really quick, but decided it wasn’t worth it if I half-assed it. You’re welcome! Today I have some news on Dougie Fresh, some awesome desk accessories and tips to stay confident on the weight room floor. [Read more…]

Grapefruit Vodka Soda

June 27, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Grapefruit Vodka Soda

In my Anything & Everything Friday post last week I had a link with some better-for-you-summer-cocktails. It got me thinking about what I like to drink when I sit on the back porch to relax. Occasionally I’ll grab a beer and enjoy that, but some nights I want a cocktail! Like a Grapefruit Vodka Soda.

Is vodka clean eating? Is alcohol in general clean eating? Not so much. It is called balance, right?!? [Read more…]

Friday

Tee-hee-hee…. I love a good food-related joke! Happy Friday!!! Time for Anything & Everything Friday, where I share five random topics with you. I receive emails throughout the week about food, exercise, beauty, etc and most of them are health-related. I love learning more about health in general and enjoy reading about those topics. I pick some of my favorite articles and share them with you each week! They are typically related to health, but sometimes it is “health-related” by being hilarious. Laughing is healthy!!!

This week I have some recipes for some healthier summer cocktails, a list of the best protein sources, movies for a girls’ night in and some reasons to strength train! Let’s do this…. [Read more…]

Anything & Everything Friday – June 17

June 17, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Friday

Happy Friday!!! I am all about balance. There is room in life to workout and eat well. There is also room to go pant-less and eat whatever the heck you want! I try to exercise daily and eat well 80% of the time. I love food and sweets so sometimes that is what wins! How do you find balance?!? Pants? Or no pants?

Time for Anything & Everything Friday, where I discuss five random topics of my choosing. I get emails and read articles about health all week long so I pick some of my favorites to share with you. I also find random articles that have nothing to do with health and I will occasionally share those as well.

This week I have some budget-friendly vacation destinations, ways to add more protein to your diet and some travel snack ideas.  [Read more…]

Anything & Everything Friday – June 3rd

June 3, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Friday

Happy Friday! Similar to last week, this MIGHT be me tonight. Not sure. I love lounging on Friday nights rather than getting crazy. I also love wine. Works perfectly.

While I am feeling all lovey-dovey, I love short weeks…. four days are so much easier to get through than five, right?! Time for Anything & Everything Friday where I share with you five different topics of my choosing. Today I’m sharing with you the item I purchased shopping last weekend (hello summer shorts!), Top Golf, and the benefits of spicy foods!  Here we go…. [Read more…]

Date Night at Bones

May 29, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Date Night at Bones

My husband loves to spoil me. He knows me quite well, so he knows HOW to spoil me.

Donny had to do a Cajun boil on Saturday so we needed to go pick up all the food Friday night. I suggested we go to Bones, a restaurant we’ve been wanting to go to in Denver for a while. Of course, I had to twist his arm but he humored me.

We got everything for the Cajun boil first, then had a few minutes before our reservations so we stopped by Vitamin Cottage (Natural Grocers). He needed to pick up some samples for work and I love grocery shopping. I do enjoy Vitamin Cottage and this one was huge! He found what he needed and I, of course, found goodies of my own! Anything & Everything Friday – May 27th

Friday

Can you imagine finding this carrot in your garden? That’d be awesome.

Yay it is Friday! Even better, it is Friday before a 3-day weekend! Boomshakalaka is all I can say. Not a ton going on this weekend, which is nice. We have date night tonight (see below), we are doing a Cajun boil tomorrow night and then I’m planning to go with my sister up to Denver to do some mad shopping! I am in need of new sandals, shorts, and some tops for warmer weather. Donny will be gone Sunday & Monday so I’ll have lots of time to meal prep and create recipes. Ayo, sounds like a good weekend to me! What are your plans?

Time for Anything & Everything Friday. Today the topics include sunscreen, busy mornings, and our date night location tonight! [Read more…]

May 20, 2016 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Anything & Everything Friday Cat

I’m not going to lie, this is probably me tonight. SUPER busy……

Time for Anything & Everything Friday. A weekly post where I like to share with you five different topics of my choosing. I try to keep them health related, even if the part that makes it healthy is simply the fact that it is a hilarious video or picture that will make you laugh. Laughing is healthy! Today I have a short video about why we crave foods (not a funny one, sorry), our book club book, and an update on Kevin! [Read more…]
