Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 60

July 5, 2017 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Meal Prep Ideas

It is a busy week for me this week, but I still needed meal prep ideas. 4th of July is a paid company holiday, but falls on a Tuesday and then we have our biggest work event of the year this next weekend. I didn’t need very many meals, so meal prep didn’t take very long!

I cooked a few things this week, but I love eating raw produce in the summer!

No-cook meals are great in the hot summer months. Hello chopped salads, overnight oats and easy no-cook snacks! [Read more…]

Meal Prep Ideas

I’ve been lucky the last couple weekends and have been able to split some of my cooking into two days. On Saturday I cooked a few things so I didn’t have quite as much to do on Sunday. Sunday was left with cooking just a few things and assembling all the meals. It went very smooth!

If you have any questions about my meal prep ideas this week then please ask! Email me at eatliftplayrepeat@gmail.com or comment below. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 58

Meal Prep Ideas

This week required quite the grocery shopping haul! We were pretty low on groceries from being gone most of last week, so we made up for it this week.

Luckily it is summertime so fruits and veggies are widely available! Donny & I were actually in Greeley, CO on Saturday so we stopped by King Soopers. I haven’t shopped at King Soopers since college and I really enjoyed it! The one we went to was really nice, which helps too. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 57

June 14, 2017 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Meal Prep Ideas

It was hard to even call what I did this week “meal prep”. Donny & I were in Tennessee from late Friday night to Wednesday morning seeing his sister and her family.

We landed in Denver about 10:00am, so we stopped by Target on the way home to grab a few things.

I didn’t have to do too much in terms of meal prep ideas because I only have two work days to make food for! I’ll do another normal shopping trip and meal prep session this weekend. Check out how simple I kept things this week. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 56

Meal Prep Ideas

There are a few reason I like the warmer weather months in terms of meal prep ideas.

Produce is a huge difference, because in the summer time produce prices drop dramatically! Summer time is obviously a peak season for a lot of produce, so it tastes better and it is cheaper. Win-win my friend!

I also tend to change up my cooking routine in the summer. Actually, I tend to cook LESS for my meal prep ideas. My meals end up being more raw-based including salads and fresh fruit as snacks.

When it is 100 degrees out I don’t like turning my oven on! I’ll make other foods instead that require less cooking. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 55

Meal Prep Ideas

The weather is getting warmer and I’ve wanted to spend less time in the kitchen cooking over a hot stove. Lately I’ve been using more no-cook meal prep ideas for my snacks and meals!

This week I made a copycat Chick-Fil-A Grilled Market Salad, overnight oats, hardboiled eggs and some fruits and veggies. If you haven’t tried the Market Salad from Chick-Fil-A then try it next time you are there!

It combines blueberries, strawberries, apples and bleu cheese on the salad and is topped with chicken. It is my favorite! I decided to make a similar version this week during meal prep because summer fruits are getting cheaper and cheaper! [Read more…]

Meal Prep Ideas

I am heading out on a quick trip to see my grandparents in Illinois this week. Donny is out of town all week (we are meeting up in Chicago), so I didn’t do too much in terms of meal prep ideas this week.

Honestly, I thought about skipping my grocery shopping all together and living on food already in the house! [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 53

Meal Prep Ideas

I switched things up a little this week in terms of meal prep ideas. Mother’s Day was on Sunday so I squeezed in a little prep on Saturday instead. It doesn’t matter to me WHEN I make the food. I just like to find some amount of time to make it….

Green chile burritos was on the menu and they are fantastic! So easy to make – you’ll see below how simple they really are. I also whipped up some overnight oats and hardboiled eggs for the week. [Read more…]

Stir-fry was on the menu in terms of meal prep ideas this week! Read below to see how I made this simple, yet healthy meal to last the week.

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 51

May 3, 2017 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Meal Prep Ideas

Part of my weekend routine involves packing food for the week! I take my lunch and two snacks to work each day, so I make it all ahead of time to keep the week easy. I have a ton of meal prep ideas and try to vary them week to week.

A few of my go-to meal prep ideas include overnight oats (which I made this week), yogurt parfaits and a variety of cooked vegetables and proteins for the week.

This week I was crazy and made zoodles with meatballs and marinara, plus a clean eating chicken salad to spread on a bagel! Healthy and easy meals are what I prefer to eat throughout the day. [Read more…]
