Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 70

September 13, 2017 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas

Each week I take a little bit to think about what I want to eat for lunch for the week. If you missed Monday’s post about 4 Questions To Ask Before You Start Meal Prep then check it out to narrow down what to make each week.

I’ve been keeping meal prep ideas pretty simple lately. I’ve currently 39 weeks pregnant (hopefully only a few more days…..) and I’m eating a ton of small snacks throughout the day, rather than full meals. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 69

Meal Prep Ideas

This week’s meal prep ideas are pretty easy! In fact, there are a lot more healthy snack options than meals this week.

I’m 38 weeks pregnant and not able to eat very much at one sitting without getting sick. Instead of feeling sick, I have been eating small things constantly throughout the day. I do still eat a lunch of a normal size, which hasn’t been problem for me yet.

Usually I would eat 5 meals per day with a snack before my early morning workout. This new way of grazing all day long is hard for me, but I’m working on it. It has also been hard to get enough protein in throughout the day too, because chicken doesn’t sound that good and cottage cheese isn’t sitting well. [Read more…]

Meal Prep Ideas

Each week I take a few minutes to think about what I want to eat throughout the week. I also think about how much I want to actually cook. Meal prep ideas don’t have to necessarily include a ton of cooked foods.

This week my meal prep ideas only require one thing cooked! I made my Healthy Enchilada Casserole to enjoy for lunch all week, but the rest of my snacks are no-cook recipes. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas

There was some “prep” done this week, but not a lot of full meals! I still consider these meal prep ideas though… because snacks work too!

I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and I cannot eat very much at one time! My nausea has come back a little, plus some heartburn so I have to be careful what I eat. Instead of full blown meals throughout the day I’ve basically been “grazing” on smaller snacks here and there. It is definitely different than normal, but it has helped this week. [Read more…]

Meal Prep Ideas

Meal prep ideas this week included a little more cooking that I’ve done the past few weeks. I didn’t go crazy, but used my oven and microwave to prepare a few foods!

To make things easier on me I split cooking up into two different sessions. I had some extra time on Saturday so I prepared a few things and finished the rest on Sunday. It helped to not feel like I had to do it all on Sunday!

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 65

Meal Prep Ideas

My weekend was a little crazy due to a two-day golf tournament. I had a little bit of time for meal prep ideas, but I was lacking in energy after a round of golf Saturday and another round Sunday.

Instead of skipping meal prep I decided to prepare some really easy foods. In fact, the only thing I cooked was hardboiled eggs! Sandwiches and a variety of convenient snacks will get me through the rest of the week.

A little planning can help a ton when it comes to meal prep ideas. If you are short of time, then plan to make simple foods that don’t require a lot of cooking! I’m still managing to eat healthy, clean eating foods all week without much effort. [Read more…]

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas – Week 64

Grocery Shopping & Meal Prep Ideas

My weekend was fairly busy, but I still managed to meal prep. Planning is the key to making sure you prep healthy snacks and meals for the week ahead. I only had a limited amount of time to get things cooked and packed, so I made the most of it.

My meal prep ideas included several no-cook recipes so that I wasn’t waiting on things to get done. I could move at a faster pace because nothing needed cooking time!

Meal Prep Ideas

It has been a while since Donny grilled for me, but this week’s meal prep ideas do include some grilling!

I like when he grills because it saves me time (I can work on other meals inside) and it is less clean-up in the kitchen! Win-win, my friend.

One other benefit to grilling is the flavor. I love that grilled-charred taste that gets on the veggies and meat! It is not something you can get from roasting, that’s for sure. [Read more…]

Meal Prep Ideas

I was lucky when it came to meal prep ideas this week, because I actually had the energy to make several things!

Last week was pretty bare bones in terms of meal prep because I was so exhausted over the weekend (thank you Bobstock and 7-months-pregnant-energy-levels). We ended up eating out WAY too many times for dinner this last week because I didn’t want to cook and nothing was prepared.

Instead of doing that this week, I decided to make two lunch-like meals and have some extra for dinners. I made a turkey pasta bake and a chicken version of my Healthy Enchilada Casserole. Both are perfect meal prep ideas because while they bake in the oven you can get other snacks prepared! [Read more…]

Meal Prep Ideas

This week’s meal prep ideas required very little cooking and very little time!

We had our biggest event of the year for work over the weekend and I was beat on Sunday. Turns out being 7+ months pregnant and being in 90-100 degree weather for three days really takes it out of you!

I did manage to make it to the grocery store and throw together lunch for the week. This week’s meal prep ideas were all about convenience. [Read more…]
