Day in the Life: Mel’s Meals [#4]
Today was a little different in terms of meals. Our hospital does a health fair each year and they do early blood draws the week prior from 6am-8am. It is really affordable compared to the price of regular blood work. Donny & I have done this the last few years and I like comparing my results from year to year.
Anyway, we had to get our blood drawn Tuesday morning so I couldn’t eat anything when I got up.

Workout Wednesday – Lower Body Trisets
What do I love about training lower body? How powerful I feel when I can lift really heavy. I dig it. As much as I love lifting as heavy as possible on lower body, occasionally I like to change it up. In this Lower Body Triset workout you won’t be able to lift quite as heavy because each triset has a cardio burst included to work your legs in a different way.

Chocolate Cake Protein Balls
The Denver Broncos are Super Bowl Champs!!!! We had a blast watching the Denver defense beat up on Cam Newton. Our defense is so bad ass!

Day in the Life: Mel’s Meals [#3]
Time for Day in the Life: Mel’s Meals! Everything I eat is not a fancy recipe… in fact, I am pretty basic.
Here is everything I ate and drank yesterday. I never add my water intake, but I am pretty good about drinking water. Yesterday I consumed 6 liters of water (one right when I woke up, plus 5 more throughout the day at work). I pee a lot. And I mean a lot. [Read more…]
Workout Wednesday – Treadmill Incline Intervals
Yesterday was pretty wild weather-wise in Colorado. We had a huge snow storm! I still have to work even if there is a blizzard (the radio biz stops for no one!). However, basically every single school was closed in Northeast Colorado. In fact, most of them are closed today too! Wild.
The wind howled all. night. long. and the roads were pretty bad in the morning yesterday so I didn’t make it to the gym. I thought about going to my parents and I also thought about doing a quick at-home workout. First of all, happy birthday to my sister, Lindsey! She is 30 years old today! I hope you said goodbye to your 20s yesterday…. I have a feeling you are going to love your 30s!
Did you feel like something was missing this weekend with no football?!? It was weird not having a game to work around yesterday. I guess I better get used to it because after next Sunday we’ll have 7 or more months of no football!
