It is already Friday… this week flew by. It was full of meetings and all sorts of things. Man, it’ll be nice to relax a little bit. We have early Thanksgiving with Donny’s family, which will be fun. Hopefully the Caddy will be ready 🙂
Well it is time for Anything & Everything Friday!
1.Body Shaming: Have you seen this article circulating around the internet? Two fitness instructors were featured in a newspaper about their new studio and someone cut the article out of the paper and sent it to them with little notes all over it saying they were fat and unfit. They ended up getting another article printed calling that person out (they didn’t name them). It is awesome. Two Fitness Instructors Gave A Brilliant Response After Being Body Shamed. I just don’t understand body shaming. As women, we tend to be hard enough on ourselves so we definitely don’t need it from others. They make a point in saying that you never know what the other person is going through at that time or what they have been through in the past.
2. 2015 Year-End Music Mash-Up: I was working on some show prep yesterday and came across this article on Huffington Post called “2015’s First Year-End Music Mash Up Is Incredible“. I was quite intrigued so I clicked on the link in the body of the article to the YouTube video they were referring to. It was done by Daniel Kim and they really are incredible. If you like pop music then take a minute to listen to both of these mash-ups: Part 1 & Part 2. You go Daniel Kim, you go.
3. Natural Sweeteners: MaryGrace Taylor from Greatist.com wrote an article about sugar substitutes talking about the health benefits (if any) from several natural sweeteners. It is called “The Real Difference Between Agave, Honey, and Other Natural Sweeteners“. I liked the article because it does talk about each one individually. One thing I wanted to make clear was that these are considered “natural” and “clean-eating” but they still have sugar. They may be different than white table sugar, but they are sugar (hence why I use them to make things sweet). If you are using them for their health benefit then you might look elsewhere, but if you are using them as a healthy alternative to white sugar (like I am) then use in moderation.
4. Tim Tebow’s Diet: I love Tim Tebow. I wouldn’t say he is/was the best professional quarterback in the world, but I think he is genuinely a good person. Plus, he is easy on the ol’ eyes! This article “What Tim Tebow Eat….including the four things he puts in his coffee to make it taste like a milkshake” was one I knew I had to read. I love looking at professional athlete’s diets and Tim Tebow?! Yes please!
5. Christmas Capital of the Plains: Shameless plug…..if you are familiar with Fort Morgan then you know a couple years ago we named ourselves the “Christmas Capital of the Plains”. We named ourselves that and are working on building the image up that we ARE the Christmas Capital of the Plains. We have events going on every Saturday starting the weekend after Thanksgiving and going through the weekend before Christmas (four total). We also have Thursday Night Shopping Nights where you can shop local downtown businesses with a chance to win a big prize each week. I mention this because tonight is the Christmas Capital Kick-Off party. It is always a lot of fun! We hold it at Furniture Mart in Fort Morgan and this year Donny & I are in charge of all the food. We are making a nice little spread, complete with a couple sliders, a quinoa salad, pear-honey-gorgonzola bruschetta, and caprese skewers. It’ll be delicious! It is open to the public this year so come on down and find out about all the events this year. We have some new additions that are going to be really cool…. you can also check out Christmas Capital of the Plains on Facebook for more information.
Have a fantastic weekend! The weather is going to be amazing by the way. Hopefully the Broncos game will be too…. I have faith!
