Anything & Everything Friday – December 4th

December 4, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

I Love Lucy Week

I feel like this picture wraps up how the week really does feel. Hahaha I’ve been so busy this week that I didn’t notice any of those feelings… pretty soon I woke up and it was Thursday and now Friday! Holy cow. Time for all the random things going on right now…. time for Anything & Everything Friday!

1.Five Foods that Taste Better in December: Time.com has an article on their website called 5 Foods That Taste Better in December Than They Will All Year. Winter squash, broccoli, pomegranate, tangerines, and chestnuts were the five foods. I was hoping for candy canes, chocolate, cookies, hot apple cider, hot chocolate…. I was way off! The only one that surprised me on the list actually was tangerines. I would think of them being at their peak in the summer months. Learn something new every day!

2.Knee Replacement Surgery: Donny is getting a full knee replacement on Tuesday! Yikes. I married an old man! Hahaha his knee has been bothering him for so long now that it will nice for him to not be in pain. He might go stir crazy in our house because he is such a busy-body. He always likes to be doing something and he won’t be able to. He will just have to binge watch some TV shows! Hopefully everything goes well and he recovers perfectly. It might be a rough few weeks but it’ll be worth it. He has to stay the night in the hospital for two, possibly three nights. I’m going to stay at my brother & sister-in-laws house and get some good Gemma-time! They have an 8-mont old daughter that is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. I just love her!

3.Mizuna: We have some Christmas Capital stuff on Saturday but nothing going on Saturday night so we decided to go on a date night before Donny gets laid up. We picked another restaurant out of our hat (aka cigar box) and we drew Mizuna! It is a French restaurant and I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while now. It is a sister restaurant to Osteria Marco, which we love. They have some really cool things on their menu, so check it out!

4.Express Jeans: I am obsessed with Express jeans right now. I bought several pairs a few months ago when they were on sale and I love them. They had a “50% off everything” sale for Black Friday so I bought a few more pairs. I decided to try a couple new styles this time (I know, getting crazy). I bought two pairs of their jegging jeans, which are just slightly stretchier than their skinny jeans, and then I bought another pair of tall bootcut jeans to wear with heels. I bought a size down from the ones I currently own and I love them. I went through a stage where I was buying cheap jeans that I wasn’t completely in love with so now I’m trying to weed those out and get ones that I love. Jeans are hard. I also bought a pair of booties (yes, ANOTHER pair of booties) and a pair of nude flats. Ayo! I don’t typically buy clothes online but now that I know what size of jeans I wear for Express I don’t feel so nervous doing it.

5.We had book club on Wednesday night and we chose The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Our last book, What Alice Forgot, was amazing! It was such a good and quick read. It really made me think about the future and made me think about marriage. I have talked to a few people who say it is really good so hopefully it does not disappoint! I hope to get some good reading done while I’m hanging out in the hospital with Donny. If not, I have a while until we meet again. If you are interested in joining out book club then let me know. We are pretty laid back! Or if you have any book suggestions then let me know. I’m always on the hunt for a new good read!

That’s it for me for today! Have a great weekend. I’m taking my laptop up to Loveland so hopefully I can post a few times next week. I’ll have a new recipe up on Monday!
