Well happy Friday! Any plans for this weekend?! We are actually planning to be pretty low key. Hopefully I can get some work done on a few more recipes! I have quite a few on my list, but I need to perfect a couple.
Time for Anything & Everything Friday. So many random things go through my mind on a weekly basis and I pick 5 of them to share with you. You’re welcome. Here goes….
1.Greatist 100 Most Influential: This is a list that Greatist.com came up with of the 100 most influential people in the health and fitness world. There are some typical people you’d think of like Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, Oprah, Michael Pollan, etc. There are a few lesser-known people that I’m glad made the list. One of my favorites is #85 Jen Sinkler. I follow her on Instagram and she is a power lifter and former U.S.A. team rugby player. What I’m saying is: she’s a badass! She doesn’t focus on being skinny, she focuses on being strong. I love that! Check her out (@jensinkler) and all the other 99 influential people from this last year.
2.Cast Iron Skillets: I have wanted these for a while now, but I finally purchased three new cast iron skillets (I bought these here)! They came in a three-pack with a 6″ skillet, 8″ skillet, & 10″ skillet. I cannot wait to play around with these!! Hello individual frittatas. Baked eggs. Skillet cornbread. Mmmmm it is making me hungry just thinking of all the recipes I can make in these! Stay tuned, I’ll bring you a few new recipes. Any requests?
3.Cereals: Kids cereals can be loaded with sugars and unfortunately, some adult cereals can be too! I tend to enjoy cereal as a dessert and not for breakfast. I crave cereal sometimes after dinner… weird I know. Regardless of when you eat cereal, here is an article on Greatist.com by Kissairis Munoz “The 20 Cereals That Are Actually Healthy For You“. There are also tips at the bottom of the list for how to pick out the best cereals if these are not options. I haven’t tried any of Barbara’s products but apparently I need to! She has the top 3 healthiest cereals on this list.
4.2015 in Review: I received an email from our credit card company earlier this week with a link to our 2015 spending. I honestly was a little nervous to look at it. Donny & I had actually just joked about that a few days before. I told him we’d probably be floored if we knew how much money we’d spent throughout the year on food, restaurants and traveling. Turns out, that IS what we spend most of our money on! Hahaha surprise surprise. We apparently like groceries, restaurants, and golf. And Amazon, don’t forget Amazon. Those were the categories that stuck out the most to me. It was actually very interesting to look at and see how and when we spend money. I also enjoyed browsing the “restaurants” category because it reminded me of all the cool restaurants we tried throughout the year! Well, at least the ones we paid with a credit card! Have you looked at your household spending habits? It is pretty eye-opening. I’m sure our spending will change when we have kids, but for now we are having a lot of fun!
5.Loft: I’ve never shopped at Loft before, but last Saturday when Adrianna & I were walking around the 16th St Mall we stopped in. Adrianna said she shops there all the time and had a gift card. I walked around for a while without committing, but then it happened. Once it happened I couldn’t stop it from happening! I kept finding item after item after item….My favorite purchase was this Lou & Grey Hi-Side Open Cardigan (picture below, but mine is grey). I knew once I put it on I wouldn’t want to take it off. I was right. I wore it to work earlier this week and it is crazy comfortable! Plus, it is really warm! Donny complimented it and then told me I should buy more….. well, alright! Hahaha I haven’t yet, but I may just do that. I want to wear it every. single. day.
That’s it for today. Have a great weekend and GO BRONCOS!!!
