Holy snow. If you live in Colorado, did you survive yesterday?!?! Schools were closed all over Northeast Colorado, but the radio world continues! It was actually a great day in the office to get things done. There was no need to go out-and-about so I got completely caught up from being gone all last week.
The wind caused quite a few drifts and it tends to drift pretty heavily by our front door and in front of our garage door. We got off work an hour early (so we could get home before dark) and my parents surprised us by coming over to help shovel! My dad & I shoveled the driveway and my mom entertained Donny.
You can be jealous. I do have the best parents.
Speaking of Donny, he had his first round of physical therapy yesterday and it went well! They gave him a few more exercises to start incorporating and a couple stretches to try. He is right on track so hopefully will be good as new in no time!
He was pretty worn out after therapy though. We did another round of exercises before bed, but he struggled to get very far on his own. I bet today will be better since his muscles will have had time to rest. He has another round of PT tomorrow and then Friday as well.
Today’ workout is a quad set format, meaning four different exercises done one after the other, after the other, with little rest between. It is a similar format to a superset, but instead of rotating between two exercises you are incorporating four. Each quad set is then done three times through.
After all is said and done you’ll work the chest, back, triceps, biceps, and abs. Your legs will get some action with the cardio bursts, both with jumping rope and standing while riding the stationary bike.
I feel like I am a pretty good jump-roper, but standing while riding the bike kills me. It gives my legs a really good burn. Try not to dump onto each leg as you pedal. Try to stay upright and pedal your legs as smoothly as possible and as quickly as possible. I find it quite difficult…..
Below are links to all the strength training exercises through Bodybuilding.com. I did not include the jump rope or the standing bike. If you aren’t sure what I’m referring to then try Google. I also used the quad set format for another workout so check out Quad Sets – Front Body & Back Body if you want another example.
