Anything & Everything Friday – November 6th

November 6, 2015 by johnson_mel@hotmail.com

Sassy Pants

Happy Friday! This is how I feel today. I woke up at 4:00am without an alarm clock raring and ready to go! Yoga was amazing this morning and gave me MORE energy. Watch out!

I am actually very relieved that it is the end of the week….this week has been a rough one. I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend. Anyone else?!?!

Can you believe this is my first Anything & Everything post for November?!?! That is wild.  I feel like I am going to blink and we’ll be into 2016!

Mooooving on. Time for the random thoughts and events going on in my world. Feel free to share anything random with me anytime! Leave your comments below.

1.Matt Bellassai: Does anyone else follow Matt Bellassai on social media? My friend Ali posted one of his “Whine About It” episodes on my Facebook page a while back and I’ve been addicted to him ever since. He is extremely cynical, bitchy, and yet down-right hilarious. He is a writer at BuzzFeed and has the awesome job of getting drunk at his desk and then going on a rant about his topic of choice. I’ve seen ones about annoying couples, college kids, Halloween, and fall. Completely inappropriate, yet hilarious. Do not play these videos around children. Or grandparents. Maybe I should talk the boss into letting me get drunk and do a radio segment!

2. The One Thing Trainers Wish You Would Stop Doing: Amy Schlinger wrote collected these tips from trainers in an article for Self. They really are great tips that might make you think twice if you are guilty of one or more. Check out the list to pinpoint which ones might keep you from seeing the results you want. I’d love to discuss your struggles, whether it be boredom, confusion, or lack of motivation.

3. Healthy Tips for People On the Go: I sign up for the Labrada Newsletter and it gets emailed to my inbox. It has some great resources, some of which I’ve shared with you in previous posts. This particular article explains some great techniques for eating healthy and exercising even when you are crazy busy! It is pretty much holiday season so stay on track with some of these helpful tips. I actually follow a lot of these on a daily basis including taking snacks to work, making lunch instead of dining out, and taking the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator (just ask Donny, Cody, & Lindsey… they always make fun of me at airports because I take the stairs).

4. Fitbit Update: So remember on Wednesday when I told you my Fitbit was broken?! Well it is still broken, but I called Fitbit Customer Service and they are sending me a new one, no questions asked one question asked. Literally, “what is wrong with it” was the only question they really asked, besides shipping information. I got to pick a new color (I chose plum instead of black this time) and it should be here soon. The lady that helped me said that sometimes they make you ship the broken one back but sometimes now. Easy peasy. They will keep me as a customer, that’s for sure!

5. Spectre: The new James Bond movie is out today! Are you going to go see it? I honestly and not a huge James Bond movie type of gal, but I went to see Skyfall and loved it! It was on TV earlier this week and I watched the last 30 minutes or so. I still love it, so I feel like I should see this new one! Anyone want to go watch Daniel Craig be a bad@ss?!?

That’s it for today! Have a great weekend. On Monday I will post a new steel-cut oatmeal recipe… a teaser, it is made in a slow cooker! So easy.

  • 4 Easy Ways to Use Protein Powder (that are NOT protein shakes)
A few years after I began weight lifting I got more serious about fueling my workouts. I started trying to get 40% of my calories from protein, which is not that easy to do! I prefer to get as much protein as I can from whole foods, such as lean meats, eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. […]

My sister’s daughter, Bailey, was born exactly 3 weeks after Abby Jo. How cool is that? It is really fun watching them change and it will be fun to see them grow up together. Anyway, we have a nanny to watch both girls but she doesn’t start until January. We are juggling the girls around […]

I’m starting to get back into a routine of meal prep and clean eating! It’s obviously more difficult with an infant. However, Donny & I are pretty good at figuring out how to make an easy, yet healthy dinner on a tired weeknight. My meals are getting more consistent and a couple weeks ago I […]
