The last few days have been rough. The button on the side of my Fitbit broke (several parts appear to be broken around that area) and so I cannot scroll through the information! It is killing me. I don’t know how many steps I’ve gotten or even what time it is (I have surprised myself with how many times I use it for the clock). It still registers, I just cannot view it.
It has a one-year warranty but I’m not sure if they will honor it. I wonder if they will say it was my fault or something that it was broken. I mean it gets worn every single day so yeah, it gets a lot of use. I’ll have to call them. Otherwise, I might have to buck up and buy another fitness tracker!
I do have an app that goes with the Fitbit which tracks everything, including the sleep part. However, silly me, downloaded it on my iPad instead of my phone and I don’t carry my iPad with me. In fact, I tend to charge my iPad and then forget to use it before it dies again. It is a vicious cycle really. First world problems.
Anyone know if you can download the Fitbit app on two devices?
Mooooving on, let’s talk about legs. Anyone else love training legs?! It makes me feel strong because I can lift pretty heavy on leg exercises. This Workout Wednesday just so happens to be focused on the lower body!
These lower body supersets are set up to have one big move, if you will, with another smaller move with it. It is meant to have you go heavier with fewer reps on the first exercise (squats, deads, etc) then lighter or no weight and high reps for the second exercise (glute bridge, adductors, etc). I suggest 8-10 reps for the first exercise and 15-20 for the second.
One of my favorite lower body moves is the hip thrust. Has anyone heard of or read articles from Bret Contreras? He is the Glute Guy in the training world and a big advocate for the hip thrust. He is a strength and conditioning coach and power lifter himself. I follow him on Instagram (@bretcontreras1) and he is always posting videos of the people he trains in his “Glute Lab”, aka his garage. I love it. He works a lot with women who are doing physique competitions to help them get that nice round booty! I would love to train with him some time. He is pretty dang good lookin’ too so that helps 🙂
Watch out for next week’s Workout Wednesday. I did the workout yesterday morning and yikes… I was sweating like crazy! It was fantastic. Below are links to the exercises if you are unfamiliar. Bodybuilding.com has a whole database of exercise guides for anyone wanting to try some new things or if you hear a term and you aren’t 100% sure what that is. I end up at Bodybuilding.com pretty frequently to make sure I’m understanding the move, what muscles it is working, and where all my body parts are suppose to be. Check it out sometime.
