Unfortunately I woke up this morning and was not a millionaire. No winning the PowerBall for the Edson’s. Too bad. We would have done some fun things with all those dollar bills!
It is pretty fun to talk about winning. We did at work a little bit and my dad decided we would buy a company jet. Only makes sense. We would use to mostly to go to all the away Broncos games… not necessarily radio things.
Obviously a good investment.
Back to real life now. I set a goal to lose 1% body fat in eight weeks. I do track my macros and previously I was aiming at 40/40/20 percentage of carbs/protein/fat. I spoke with Jodi and she suggested a 30/40/30, meaning decreasing my carbs and increasing my healthy fats. I use MyFitnessPal to track the exact number of grams of each that I need per day. Right now I’m at about 175 grams of protein, 130 grams of carbs, and 58 grams of fat.
I find it quite enjoyable to try to fit my food into those numbers. It is like a game! It is actually not as easy as it seems to get close to those values. I obviously don’t get it right on the dot, but I am trying to get as close as possible.
One nice thing was that I didn’t have to change the number of calories that I was consuming. I’m eating pretty much the same amount, just different quantities of the foods (more avocado and coconut oil, less oatmeal and brown rice). It is always hard to get back into a routine of how much to eat of what in order reach my macros, but it is getting easier!
Do you know what else is easy?!?! Accidentally eating an entire batch of oatmeal raisin cookie dough without even baking any cookies……
Oatmeal raisin is by far my favorite raw cookie dough. I obviously enjoy all cookie doughs, but oatmeal raisin is the best!
These Oatmeal Raisin Cookie Dough Energy Bites taste like raw cookie dough, but are free of refined sugars and refined flours! Enjoy as a snack or after dinner dessert. Plus, with zero eggs involved you don’t have to worry about it being “raw”….no fear of salmonella!
I cannot stress how easy it is to make energy bites and how convenient (and did I mention delicious) that they are. Try my other recipes including Peanut Butter Energy Bites, Apricot Coconut Protein Bites, and Snickerdoodle Energy Bites.
- 3/4 cup quick oats
- 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder (I used whey isolate)
- 2 Tbsp almond flour
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 2 Tbsp almond butter
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup raisins
- In a medium mixing bowl whisk together oats, almond flour, protein powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a small mixing bowl whisk together honey, almond butter, and almond milk. Add mixture to the dry ingredients. Using a large spoon, stir until well combined*. Fold in raisins.
- Roll 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball. Repeat until all dough is gone.
- *Dough will be very thick. If dough is too crumbly then add almond milk until it sticks together.
- Store energy bites in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
