Well hello weekend. I’m so happy to see you! This week honestly went crazy fast……I honestly don’t know where the time went. Well, it is time for my Anything & Everything Friday for this week.
1. Book Club: Our first meeting is October 21st and our first book is The Secret Keeper by Kate Morton. I have not read any of her books but this book made it on the New York Times Bestseller list so she must be a good writer! I haven’t started the book yet, but Donny will be gone a lot this month so I can get some good reading in! Plus, we have a trip coming up (see Cleveland Rocks) and I love reading on airplanes and while at airports.
2. Cleveland Rocks: We are heading to Cleveland, OH next Thursday! Doesn’t everyone want to go to Cleveland?! That’s what we thought. Actually, my parents try to go on an annual trip to an away-Broncos game. This year they invited Donny & I, plus Lindsey (my sister) & her husband, Cody, and we decided on Cleveland. It is going to be so fun! We fly out Thursday afternoon and then we plan to go to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Sunday is obviously filled with tailgating and the game, and we come home Monday midday. I’m really excited! My family is really easy to travel with and we are all pretty easy-going. We also have the same interests: booze & food. Hahaha we all enjoy trying new restaurants and drinking beer. It just so happens to be Cleveland Beer Week while we are there. I swear we didn’t plan it this way… just lucky!
3. Zack Morris: First of all, I grew up watching Saved by the Bell. With that being said, I was never so obsessed about the show that I knew all about the actors who portrayed the characters on the show. Well Mark-Paul Gosselaar was on Jimmy Fallon (watch the interview here) the other day promoting his new show “Truth Be Told” and I learned so much about him. Like that he is part Asian. Yeah, his mother is from Indonesia! I found that very interesting. More importantly, Zack Morris is not a real blonde! Mark-Paul Gosselaar naturally has brown hair. Mind = blown.
4. White Chicken Chili: I’m making White Chicken Chili for dinner tonight. In fact, I threw all the goodies in the slow cooker this morning and it is doing its magic for the next few hours. I’m super excited for it and I’ve added a few extra goodies to spice it up…. I’ll be sharing soon hopefully!
5. Food Prep Help: The last few weeks I’ve been trying to incorporate one food per week that I’ve never cooked before. Donny & I had some root veggies a couple weeks ago and last week we made eggplant (we’ve had it before but never incorporated it into my food prep). Any suggestions for this week? I’ll be making meals on Sunday and need an idea. A new type of squash maybe?!?!?! I could go to the store and walk around until I find something, but I’d love some input!
6. Fog: We’ve had quite a stretch here in northeast Colorado of foggy mornings. My father-in-law, Gaylon, says that 90 days after a foggy day is a snowy day. Well, based on the math Donny & I did it is going to be a very snowy time leading up to Christmas and into the new year! A white Christmas, maybe?!?!?!
Have a fantastic weekend!!!
