Well Bobstock 2015 is officially in the books and it was a success! We had our best year yet. Warrant rocked the stage on Friday night and they were amazing to work with. They were really fun guys and want to come back! That’s always a good sign right?!?!
Lou Gramm was incredible – he still sounds great. I did not enjoy working with his tour manager one bit (that is putting it nicely). Lou was very nice himself, quiet but nice. His tour manager was not at all. No fun. However, once Lou performed and did amazing I decided I didn’t care that his manager was a jerk because I never had to see him again. I got to rock out to all my favorite Foreigner songs and that was enough for me!
I already know your next question… who are you going to get next year?! Hahaha we get that from everyone we talk to. Honestly, we have no idea. We have people we would love to get, but no clue at this point.
Everything at Bobstock is relatively close together… half a city block here, a quarter of a city block there… not very far. Yet I managed to walk the equivalent of 20+ miles over the two-day event. Let’s just say my feet were tired. I actually wasn’t feeling as tired and sore on Sunday as I thought I would be. I didn’t do anything physical, but I made it to the grocery store all by myself and Donny grilled a bunch of food for me so that I could pack my meals for the week. Yes, food prep still happened even with this eventful weekend! It helps to have everything prepared when you know you’ll be dragging during the week.
Now on to this workout…. working the chest and the back. I have been experimenting more with how I choose to split up my workouts. When I lift on my own I have been doing less full-body trisets and supersets. Instead I’ve been trying to change things up a little bit and focus on a certain muscle group or a couple muscle groups. You can find my back-bicep workout here or my chest & tricep workout here.
Since I am not training for anything specific (tough mudder, fitness/physique competition) I sort of just do whatever I feel like training that day. Now, to my credit, I do put some thought into what I choose to do. If at bootcamp we focused on heavy legs or did several shoulder exercises one session, then I will choose to work something else. I try to leave my heavy leg or glute workouts to Fridays or Saturdays because I have more time those days.
I felt like doing supersets the other day because I wanted to move fairly quickly. When you do supersets, try to minimize the rest time between exercises. You’ll keep your heart rate up and burn more calories if you are going from one exercise to the other and back and forth. Now, if you start to feel lightheaded or woozy, then definitely take a minute. Otherwise, keep things pumping!
Here are links Bodybuilding.com that will show you how to do each exercise if you are unfamiliar. They are pretty basic, but the video and tutorial might help.
Back Extension (hyperextensions)
Push-Up (this link is a decline push-up, which you could do and it would make the move more difficult)
We leave for Wisconsin on Friday! Donny & my dad are driving out tomorrow and we are meeting them there on Friday night. I am getting really excited! My mom’s side of the family rented a house on Green Lake so it should be nice and relaxing. Just what I need after this last weekend! There will be 13 of us total and it should be a blast.
Donny & I have our two year anniversary coming up on Monday. Whoop whoop, we made it two years! Pretty soon it will be 22 years and we’ll wonder where time went. Isn’t that how it works?! Crazy.
I’ll try to remember to update Instagram while I am gone. You might see a lot of me sitting on my bum… haha at least hopefully that happens.
Did you make it out to Bobstock? Did you have fun?
